Should fight: Cain Velasquez
Why they should fight:
This is an interesting situation for Cain Velasquez, because both he and Werdum now come off wins against none else than Travis Browne. With that said, who made a statement and who’s performance is deserving of a title shot.
Velasquez defeated Browne via TKO in the first-round at UFC 200 and is also riding a 5-1 streak.
Fabricio Werdum
Should fight: Junior Dos Santos
Why they should fight:
Werdum may have missed his opportunity to fight for the Heavyweight title. The performances by both fighters in Cleveland seemed very sluggish and Werdum was unable to knockout or submit Travis Browne.
Junior Dos Santos recently defeated Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 86, since then he has been battling an injury sustained from the fight. This fight would likely put both fighters to the test and be a certain title elimination bout.
Mickey Gall
Should fight: Sage Northcutt
Why they should fight:
Mickey Gall basically handed the UFC a barn burner during the octagon interview. Gall’s personality attracts the young audience as does “super sage” so this will be interesting to see how Dana acts on this call out.
Sage Nothcutt is already a household name among newer UFC fans and is coming off a win at UFC 200. With 1 star in the making, who’s to say Gall isn’t just as much of a star than Sage.
Jimmie Rivera
Should fight: Thomas Almeida
Why they should fight:
After Rivera’s win against Uriah Faber, he was eager to tell the audience and Joe Rogan that for the last 5 minutes of the 3rd round; he had lost his vision from the eye poke. If Rivera does receive a long layoff it will be a tough go for him.
With the performance that Rivera put on, he is well deserving of a top 10 fighter in the B division. Thomas Almeida is still a star on the rise after losing to Garbrandt and to get back on track, it only seems fit to fight a guy who just beat a figure of the sport.
Jessica Andrade
Should fight: Claudia Gadelha
Why they should fight:
We’re use to seeing Jessica Andrade display striking combos and a relentless force in the octagon. Andrade was hoping to get a title shot after this fight but seeing as she is #6 in the rankings and has only 2 fights which have been wins in the Strawweight division, one more would do the job.
Claudia hasn’t fought since her loss to Joanna Jedrzejczyk. This is a fight Brazilian fans would love to see.
