After the stellar performance Cody Garbrandt 10-0-0 (W-L-D) put on at UFC 202, it’s becoming clear that he is a star in the making.
Garbrandt’s reign of knockouts has solidified his current rank at #8 in the Bantamweight division, and while he continues to capitalize on his call outs to Dominick Cruz, its seems he will inch closer to a title shot. Garbrandt is consistently living up to his nickname ‘No Love’ delivering highlight reel knockouts to high praised Thomas Almeida and most recently Takeya Mizugaki.
In th meantime Cruz is showing no signs of pushing for this fight, but it seems as if Garbrandt’s antics are pressing Cruz, especially since he’s had enough of Team Alpha Male.
Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt exchanged words pre-fight of his UFC 202 bout. Only one could imagine how these two caught up with one another backstage.
Although, Cruz still shows no interest in defending his belt in the Bantamweight division, this fight is one that could sell on PPV and the short history between these two would for sure be one to market to fans. This push for a title shot won’t come easy due to the list of fighters also campaigning for a shot at the title, notables like TJ Dillashaw–Bryan Caraway–John Lineker. Surely, one more fight under Garbrandt’s record would land him a certain title shot.
